Passport Visa, Money and Weather

Citizens of the European Union countries as well as of Switzerland, Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway do not require an entry visa may enter Cyprus either with a Passport or their national identity card provided there is a photo.

The full list other countries whose citizens do not need an entry visa, other than a valid passport, as well as of those that entry visas are required, as well the application for a visa form are found in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus web page: www.mfa.gov.cy.

The currency of the Republic of Cyprus is the Euro since 1st of Jan 2008 which is sub-divided into 100cents. Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc) are widely accepted.

Cyprus enjoys an intense Mediterranean climate. The average temperature in October-November during the day is around 25C degrees and drops to 13C degrees during the evening (http://www.euronews.com/weather/europe/cyprus/)

Internet Access

Internet access (12Mb)will be provided in the Internet room, where ten multimedia PCs and a laser printer in a wireless LAN will be available for the event delegates. Standard tools will be installed on the computers (Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader). The computer facilities will be open for use between 7:30 am and 20:00 pm. Please be considerate of your colleagues who may be waiting for a free terminal and avoid chat and long downloads.

Services such as phones, faxes, photocopies, printouts, disk copy, and other processing will not be available at the event. If you have special needs that cannot be met in any other manner, please speak to the registration desk or at the registration desk of the hotel and we will try our best to support you.

Storage of equipment and/or luggage

Since the rooms can not be locked, please do not store expensive equipment brought for information stands (computers, screens, etc.) in the dining rooms at night. We will provide a special locked storage room, but the local organizing committee will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly forbidden within all the conference rooms. You can have a smoke outside the event rooms (coffee break areas).

Important security notice

Please, always wear your conference badge within the conference venue, including lunch breaks and the evening programs. You will not be allowed to attend the conference or have coffees/ teas/meals without your badge.
